nobody of any importance, and not likely to say anything of any real point, I'm here just to have someplace to think aloud whether anyone listens or not.

I was swarmed by mosquitoes last night while releasing a bunch of my longer-term bat rehabs.

All I could think as the batties lifted off of my hand and into the sky was… “yes YES… FLY my pretties!” and cackling internally.

Anyway, I’m:

—thrilled these batties are out in the world and flying the evening skies again.

—worried about them finding their way in the world.

—pleased to have the space again to take in more new cases.

—sad to not see some of their faces every day.

—comforted by the goofy little batties that are still in residence.

—trying to ignore the mosquito bite in the middle of my forehead.

Last night’s release count:
6 Mexican Free-tailed bats
(Tadarida brasiliensis)

2 Southeastern Myotis (Myotis austroriparius)

@Geri There were photos of the air tanker 'ranks' at the US base in Qatar completely empty when I woke up yesterday, hours before the bombings. That was probably notification enough for anyone paying attention.

@2legged That's why you always commit attrocities on saturdays - everyone knows the sunday papers aren't for 'news' only propaganda, fashion and entertainment.

@aprilallthetime 10/10 for effort tho

They killed Saddam, we got ISIS
They killed Bin Laden, we got the Taliban back and women being even more oppressed than before.

They killed Khamenei, and keep bombing schools and prisons were leftists and women are.

I mourn none of these men. But messianic narcissist self-appointed paladins aren't there to liberate anyone. They kill these dictators because they are competitors in the oppression game.

For everyone who accused Hillary, Joe, and Kamala of being warmongers, this one's for you.

@ukscone @CleoQc @krypt3ia I can explain all of my scars, although some of them tend to get a side stare along with a 'really‽', like the one on my calf that was caused by landing upside down on a tree branch spur when falling out of the tree i spent most of my summers at the top of.

@CryogenicIce9
(season 3):
The PlayStation Analog Joystick used potentiometer technology previously used on consoles such as the Vectrex; instead of relying on binary eight-way switches, the controller can detect minute angular changes through the entire range of motion. The stick also features a thumb-operated digital hat switch on the right joystick, corresponding to the traditional D-pad, and used for instances when simple digital movements were necessary.

That's twice Labour have used "A vote for the Greens will allow Reform in" and twice the fearmongering hasn't worked. There's a real appetite for change in England, for policies that reflect the day-to-day concerns of voters. In so many ways this victory resembles that of Mamdani in New York. It's a slap in the face for the complacency of Labour and their politics led by think tanks and focus groups. Well done Hannah, and well done GPEW. I have waited a lifetime for this!

@donni As long as you wait until after I die on my own, that's fine.

@randahl I'd be worried about being mysteriously kidnapped by some random russian, were I that artist. It's happened before :/

Starmer is toast. He may not be lying down yet, but he's surely dead. As a long-term Labour supporter I'm sorry to say even his departure is too little, too late. Like many other former solid Labour supporters I'm now a member of the Green party because it's closer to socialist than "Starmer's Labour." theguardian.com/politics/2026/

Excuse you some of us are both.

Kids who grew up "academically gifted" are now anxious adults who have thousands of abandoned hobbies and spiral into self hate whenever they make basic mistakes, or they are doctors
There is no in between.

@kate @Geri @Reddog Too many old politicians, you need a majority of young people to maintain a progressive political party

@Geri Fuck Labour. They sold the workers out... Will never be forgiven.....

Probably at the top, i haven't heard much about voter intimidation, so i doubt reform will win

@Geri I'd predict Labour to be about 3000 votes, with Nazi 2, LD and Tory each failing to reclaim their deposit.

@Geri Also, no chance Tory will beat Labour in a place like G&D, even with Starmer at the helm.
