People love to joke about Matrix's "unable to decrypt message" error, but it's a great example to explain why metadata privacy is critical.
Join an old room, where everybody left/stopped using their account. Even if you cannot decrypt anything, you can see:
- who posted, when
- which message is a response to which
- who reacted with which emoji
- who read the message and when
